Brief Tampa Bay Lightning Jersey History

A Tampa Bay Lightning jersey comes in either mostly black accented with white and blue or mostly white accented with blue and black. The logo for the jerseys is made of up a grey circle with a white lightning bolt through it and the words Tampa Bay across the top. The name Lightning is not present in the logo, it is represented with the symbol instead. There are two different jerseys used primarily, with a third jersey which is mostly blue and the word BOLTS across the chest, which is a secondary home jersey.

The jersey that is primarily black is for the players when they are playing in their home colors. The blue jersey is also for home games, but is less commonly worn and has grey, white and black accents at the end of the sleeves and at the bottom of the jersey. The color of the away jersey is white, blue and black at the end of the sleeves and around the logo. The black Tampa Bay Lightning jersey is accented with blue and white at the end of the sleeves, and both colors of jersey have the same white lightning bolt which is shadowed with blue. This emphasizes the team’s three main colors and creates a look of constancy between the jerseys.
