Brief New Jersey Devils Jersey History
While some teams continually change their logos and colors, the New Jersey Devils jersey has only been through one color change in its history. The predominant color is red, which fits perfectly with the team’s name and is used for all home games with some black and white mixed in there. The color change was made before the start of the 1992-1993 season. Originally the colors were mainly red and green.
There are only two jerseys, one for home games and one for away and both keep the same colors. The away jersey is mainly white. There is only one other team that has not yet introduce a third, Detroit. In fact, the manager does not intend to ever bring in a third jersey since he simply does not believe in it and that teams should have one identity.
The logo is a mixture of the two letters N and J and to fit the devil part of the name, the top of the N/J has horns while the bottom of the J has a pointed tail. It is a simple logo that is easy to recognize and uses all the three colors. It has red letters in front of a white circle with black outlining. The black was changed from the green when the colors of the New Jersey Devils jersey changed in 1992.
