Brief Colorado Avalanche Jersey History
The Colorado Avalanche jersey for home games is burgundy in color with blue and white trim. The sleeves have a blue vertical stripe from the shoulder to tip of the sleeve along the outside. The emblem on the shirt is a burgundy capital italic A which is traced in a white and blue outline. It sits on an oval white background which has a blue outline. A white stripe winds around the A from the peak to the bottom which represents the avalanche.
Their away jersey is more or less identical to their home jersey except for two key differences. The shirt is now white and the blue vertical stripes along the sleeves are now burgundy. The emblem is exactly the same in appearance and color.
The third Colorado Avalanche jersey is sky blue with burgundy shoulders which are trimmed in white. The sleeves have a vertical stripe block around the elbow area which is burgundy, white, black, white and burgundy. The emblem is replaced by the name Colorado in white and is written diagonally downwards from left to right. Colorado’s practice jersey is black with white trim on the sides of the shirt. It also carries the Avalanches emblem from the home and away jerseys.
