Brad Richards initially began his NHL career with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Although he was a third round draft pick, he soon proved to be a very valuable player winning the Lady Byng and Conn Smythe trophies as well as a Stanley Cup in 2004. That same year he also won the World Cup of Hockey championship as a part of Team Canada and even went on to play in the Olympics in 2006. Since that time, Richards played for the Dallas Stars until he was eventually signed to the New York Rangers under a $60 million contract.
